His Highness

His Highness

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to breed two of our mares to the sensational young Hanoverian stallion His Highness. Foaled in 2000, His Highness is by the highly acclaimed black Trakehner stallion Hohenstein out of SPS Daireen (Donnerhall / Feiner Stern). Further back in his pedigree, the bloodlines of Aktuell, Cardinal xx and Wohler are represented. His Highness was the Champion of his stallion licensing in Verden in 2002. He then went on to be the undisputed winner of his 70 day testing in Prussendorf. His overall score was 149.24, with highlights that included a 9 for willingness to work, 10 for character, a 9.25 from his guest rider and a 10 from the training leader for rideability. His dressage score was 155, and he even had a respectable jumping index.

His Highness was purchased after his licensing at the Verden Auction by Doug and Louise Leatherdale. Doug Leatherdale is well known as the current president of the American Hanoverian Society. His Highness remains in Germany at present, stationed and the Meyer Stud, and has proven to be highly sought after, breeding more than 500 mares in his first year at stud.

You can read more about this lovely stallion at the Jens Meyer web site.

We are so excited to announce that we will breed this lovely fellow to our mare Rubizza in 2004. We can hardly wait until the following spring to see the results!

At left and below right is His Highness' sire Hohenstein. Longtime Home Again Farm friends will recall our attempts to breed to this stallion in the past. Now we look forward to breeding to one of his most illustrious sons instead.

Below left is the great Donnerhall, the sire of His Highness' mother SPS Daireen.
