Reference Sires — Weltmeyer

Weltmeyer

Weltmeyer is the sire of our two beautiful fillies Weltdancer and Weltspring out of Rohanna. He is also the sire of other stallions that we have used with success — Weltbekannt, Wolkenstein II and Wolkentanz.

Weltmeyer has stood at the state stud in Germany since 1988. He was Champion of his stallion licensing in 1986, and won his stallion performance test in 1987 with the outstanding score of 143.96 overall, besting 39 other stallions. His partial dressage index was 143.94 (1/40), and his jumping index was 141.44 (3/40). The same year, he was the Federal Champion of 3 year old riding horses. In 1998 he was awarded the coveted Hanoverian Stallion of the Year award due to his great success as a sire of excellence.

His first foal crop produced the stallion Wittinger, who was also a Federal Champion of 3 year old riding horses in 1991, and who won his stallion performance test in 1992. Also in the first foal crop was the stallion Weltburger, a Federal Champion of 4 year old riding horses in 1993, and the outstanding mare Windrose, a reserve champion mare in the European Mare Show for Riding Horses.

His second foal crop contained the incomparable Wolkenstein II, another winner of the stallion performance test as well as Federal Champion for 3 year old Riding Horses. Wolkenstein has gone on to sire many stallions as well as States Premium mares. The list of Weltmeyer's other outstanding stallion sons is literally too long to include here.

As of the time I first wrote this, he had produced more than 85 licensed stallion sons and 250 SPS mares. His dressage index is 189. He is known for passing on extravagant movement and excellent conformation.

The literal translation of this sire's name is "ruler of the world." He would seem to be well named.
